Let’s get to know Wendy better with a little Q & A:
1. What is one fun fact people may not know about you?
I have climbed the tallest mountain in Colorado, rode a mechanical bull in Tijuana, got a matching tattoo with my son in his friend’s apartment, and I prepare breakfast or a snack for my garbage guys every Thursday!
2. What is your favorite activity, or favorite place to eat, in Lincoln?
I really enjoy the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings in the Haymarket. I like to go early, enjoy a great cup of coffee, and soak in the atmosphere.
3. What hobbies do you most enjoy?
I enjoy working in my yard, planting flowers, mowing, etc. I have recently found that I really like doing puzzles — it allows me to shut my brain off, not worry or stress about things, just work the puzzle and let my brain rest.
4. Why is the White Cane Foundation important/appealing to you?
When I read the Mission, Vision and Core Values of WCF, I knew immediately I was meant to be part of this impactful foundation. Helping kids grow and mature into young adults who carry themselves with confidence and hopefully a joyful spirit, truly makes my heart smile. Growing up can be hard, knowing we can help take some of the bumps and pit holes out of the path is very powerful.
